Faculty
Development Resources and Tool Kit
The
Faculty Development Resources and Tool Kit is here to
support the creation of resources that will enrich technology-enhanced
learning environments. The creation, use and storage
of educational objects has been an area of research
that has evolved over time.
Educational
or learning "objects" is a term used to describe
a new model for digital learning in which components
can be mixed, reused and repurposed for use by various
disciplines.
Examples of educational objects are:
· digital animations
· graphics
· simulations
· digitized video and audio segments
· Webcasts
· lesson plans to support online learning activities
· interactive exercises for course Web sites.
Repositories
such as CAREO (Campus Alberta Repository of Educational
Objects) or MERLOT (Multimedia Educational Resource
for Learning and Online Teaching) make the search for
learning objects and their exchange among educators
a reality.
